HA NOI (VNS) — The Ha Noi Police, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Public Security, yesterday received a wanted man, handed over by the Chinese police, at the Noi Bai International Airport.
Tran Quoc Hung, 41, lived on Bach Mai Street in Ha Noi's Hai Ba Trung District and stands accused of killing one person and injuring another on February 24, 2011, in a shooting incident at the Sy Vit restaurant in Nhat Tan Ward, Tay Ho District.
On the night of February 23, 2011, Truong Duc Hanh, 32, was hosting a birthday party for his girlfriend, Can Thi Tuyet, at a bar in Hoan Kiem District.
When some men started annoying Tuyet, Hanh tried to drive them away but was injured when they attacked him.
While taking Hanh to the hospital, Tuyet called her friend Cuong to tell him what had happened.
Cuong then arrived at the bar to settle the dispute, ending up in a fight with Nguyen Bao Lanh, 41.
The next day, Hanh, Tuyet, Cuong and their friend, Dang Viet Thang, returned to the Sy Vit restaurant to have breakfast.
Hung and Lanh arrived at the scene, fatally shot Thang and severely beat Cuong.
The attackers then ran away, leading police to issue a wanted notice.
After searching for four years, the Ha Noi Police discovered Hung was in China, and they cooperated with the Chinese police to apprehend him. — VNS
