HA NOI (VNS) — The Communist Review newspaper was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order for the second time at a ceremony in Ha Noi yesterday to mark its 85th anniversary, which falls on August 5.
On behalf of Party and State leaders, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong presented the award to the newspaper's staff.
Founded by former Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ai Quoc, the Communist Review has successfully fulfilled its function as a political tool for the Party Central Committee.
Over the past 30 years, it had been at the forefront of spreading Party policies, State laws, socio-economic-cultural affairs, national defence and diplomacy, said current Editor-in-Chief Vu Van Phuc at the ceremony.
The newspaper had been asked to prepare documents for the 12th National Party Congress and improve the quality of its content, while countering wrongful opinions and hostile allegations, he said. — VNS
