HCM CITY (VNS) — A construction worker was killed and another was seriously injured after falling from the 12th floor of an under-construction building in HCM City yesterday.

The accident happened while they were putting up a scaffolding to install an elevator in the HQC Plaza social housing project on Nguyen Van Linh Street.

The victims, 23-year-old Nguyen Quoc Huy from the southern province of Dong Thap, and 27-year-old Nguyen Thanh Hoang from the central Thua Thien-Hue Province, were found lying immobile under logs of wood.

The investor of the project, which offers low-income earners exemption from paying land fees and low interest loans, is Hoang Quan Joint Venture Consulting- Real Estate Company.
