DA NANG (VNS) — The Da Nang International Airport will be expanded before the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Summit in 2017.
Huynh Duc Tho, chairman of the Da Nang City's People's Committee, confirmed the news yesterday, saying that the Ministry of Defence would assign the Department of Operations to re-examine land lots which are under the management of the ministry's units.
Initially, some 4.6 hectares would be allocated for the expansion, which would include the building of two more parking lots.
After the expansion, the airport will provide 21 parking lots for special aircrafts of leaders, who will be attending the event, Tho said. The airport will also be upgraded for better service in the long run. — VNS
