HA NOI — The Prime Minister has agreed to allow Vietnam Television and the State Capital Investment Corporation to establish a joint venture to invest in the construction of a VTV Tower.
In December 2014, PM Nguyen Tan Dung approved a proposal for the construction of the 14ha VTV Tower, which will be located in the new urban centre of West Lake.
According to the government office, the VTV Tower will play a major role in urban development of the capital and its funding will be drawn largely from private investors.
The government has allowed VTV to consider choosing private companies to take part in the establishment of the joint venture.
The tower will also boost tourism, and will be among the top attractions in the capital.
The exact cost and height of the tower have not been determined, but authorities believe it will be among the tallest in the world. — VNS
