LAM DONG (VNS) — Local growers have planted flowers, more than half of them being daisies, in more than 900ha in the Central Highland Lam Dong province's Da Lat city for the coming Tet.
The findings of the city's business office said that the local growers have planted a wide variety of daisies and other flowers of the city, such as lilies, orchids, lisianthus and sunflowers, besides carnations to meet the different demands of customers during the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.
As planned, the growers will supply about 20 million bunches of lilies for customers throughout the country during Tet.
Currently, a bouquet of lilies costs between VND160,000 and VND170,000 (US$7.5 to $8), while a bunch of orchids costs between VND300,000 and VND1.5 million ($14-$70).
However, the prices will rise during Tet, which falls on February 19 this year. — VNS
