TRA VINH (VNS) — The Helmets for Families Programme began yesterday in the Mekong Delta Province of Tra Vinh, where only 33 per cent of students use helmets.
The programme is carried out in five schools located along national and provincial roads with a high risk of traffic accidents.
It is organised by the Asia Injury Prevention (AIP) Foundation in co-operation with the National Traffic Safety Committee, Ministry of Education and Training and financial support from Abbot, the global healthcare company.
Tra Vinh Province is one of 13 provinces that will receive targeted helmet use efforts as part of the Nation Action Plan on Child Helmet Use organised by the National Traffic Safety Committee. — VNS
