HA NOI (VNS) — Nine Vietnamese fishermen were rescued by a foreign ship at around 6:30pm on Tuesday, when their Bth 96017TS vessel was sinking in Malaysian territorial waters.

The National Committee for Search and Rescue announced this yesterday.

The fishermen were in stable condition after Mare Britannicum, which was flying Gibralter's flag, transported them to Singapore early yesterday morning.

The foreign ministry has contacted the authorised agencies in Singapore and the Vietnamese embassy there to request for assistance. — VNS
