PHU YEN (VNS) — The People's Committee of southern central Phu Yen Province asked provincial authorities to finalise the list of poor households receiving government housing support by November 30.
The province aims to provide support to 20 per cent of the targeted households in 2014 and complete the programme in the next two years.
Under a Government decree, each poor household will receive VND12-16 million (US$570-760) and can access 10-year loans worth up to VND15 million ($710) with an annual interest rate of 3 per cent from the Bank for Social Policies. In 2013, the province built 100 flood-resistant houses for poor residents. — VNS
