HCM CITY (VNS) — ‘Information safety' is the theme of HCM City's ICT Awards this year.
The sixth annual awards, which were unveiled yesterday by the Department of Information and Telecommunications, are divided into six categories: outstanding software solutions and products; most popular hardware; best value-added service providers; outstanding IT applications; organisations and individuals making great contributions to the city's IT development; and best IT students.
Some categories have been expanded from last year. For example, the most popular hardware this year will include chips, smart cards, IT integrated with electronic equipment, and telecom devices like smart phones and GPS.
In the best value-added service providers category, the focus will be on e-commerce, digital content, over-the-top (OTT), digital signature, and cloud computing.
This year the organisers will talk about the effect of the awards on companies that have won in the last five years.
Candidates can register at until August 15. The first round will be held from August 15 to September 15 and the final round from September 15 to September 25.
The award was instituted by the city People's Committee since 2008. — VNS
