QUANG NINH (VNS) — Former deputy director of the Quang Ninh Port Company Ltd Dinh Ngoc Uyen was taken into custody for four months for his alleged involvement in appropriating public property.

According to police, between late 2011 and late 2012, Uyen and his two subordinates, including a chief accountant and cashier, allegedly used fake receipts and forged the signatures of 36 teams of workers to three cargo services companies, appropriating billions of dong.

The two accomplices had already been arrested, while the police so far recovered VND9.3 billion ($442,800) from the men.
