VN Week opens in French province

HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam Week is being held in cities and town throughout the French province of Seine-Saint-Denis.

Viet Nam's Ambassador to France, Duong Chi Dung, described the event as a great chance for participants to discover more about Viet Nam as well as Viet Nam-France friendship.

Addressing the opening ceremony on Monday, Jean-Charles Negre, vice-president of the Provincial Council, underscored the importance of the event, which is one of many arranged to mark the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.

At the ceremony, a film titled Viet Nam – Secret negotiations by French director Daniel Roussel was screened.

It was part of an exhibition of photos and once classified wartime documents. — VNS
