HCM CITY (VNS)— The Tan Nhut secondary school in HCM City's Binh Chanh district received a solar power system yesterday, as part of an initiative funded by Japan's AEON Environmental Foundation.

The school became the first among 10 local schools to benefit from the initiative.

Under the US$500,000 scheme, solar panels will be installed inside the school campus, thereby helping them save 40 per cent on their monthly electricity bills.

On the occasion, the foundation and the municipal Department of Education and Training signed an agreement to install the system in more local schools. — VNS
