HCM CITY (VNS) — The HCM City Customs Department has cracked three cases where raw material for heroin production was being smuggled into Australia.

Department officials last Wednesday and Thursday detected "unusual signs" around three batches of goods being sent to Australia. They did not elaborate.

Tests carried out by the municipal Criminal Science Institute showed that one batch, which was 17kg of wet tissues for children, was soaked with Ephedrine, often used in drug production.
