LAM DONG (VNS) — Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF), an Australian non-governmental organisation, provided free eye check-ups to 530 poor patients in Don Duong District in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong as part of the NGO's comprehensive eye care project in 15 provinces and cities across the country.
The provincial centre for social disease prevention worked with the foundation to build infrastructure, provide medical equipment and train staff in order to create better conditions to treat common eye ailments and carry out cataract surgery.
The FHF-sponsored project will offer about 100 cataract surgeries in November. The project in Lam Dong will run until 2016. — VNS
