HA NOI – Ha Noi's Traffic Police handed out 163 traffic fines yesterday during the first day of a two-month crackdown targetting coaches, taxis and cyclos that break traffic rules.
Fines were handed out to the drivers of 63 coaches, 93 taxis and one cyclo. Seven vehicles and 154 sets of vehicles' documents were temporarily confiscated.
According to the city's Road and Railway Traffic Police Department, police traffic will work with district and town police and relevant authorities from the transport sector to focus inspection and handling at coach stations, national roads or hospitals and hotels and restaurants located along major transport routes.
Traffic police will focus on violations such as driving unregistered vehicles and taxis that fail to abide by transport regulations. – VNS
