VINH PHUC (VNS)—The northern province of Vinh Phuc will spend VND435 billion (US$20.7 million) consolidating its canals and ditches.
This process will be implemented in compliance with plans for agricultural production and urban areas.
Irrigation facilities will be also built to improve local water storage capacity.
Prices will remain unchanged.
Nguyen Cong Thua, the chairman of Anh Dao Vegetable Co-operative, said he would still provide 30 tonnes of vegetables each day to HCM City's markets.
However, according to local suppliers, in the next three weeks prices may increase by 30-50 per cent due to a potential shortage. — VNS
