Coach stations crowded with people going home on Tet

Update: February, 07/2013 - 00:00

Thousands of people have flocked to coach and train stations in Ha Noi city as they return home to celebrate Lunar New Year (Tet) with their families. Traffic has become increasingly congested and stations have been overloaded during the lead up to Tet.

Although the number of coaches and trains has been increased to serve passengers, many people faced lengthy delays to buy coach and train tickets causing hours of waiting on the station floor surrounded by suitcases. Despite their weariness, the delight of going home for a well-earned break was evident on many faces. The masses were swelled further as they clutched Tet presents as well as new clothes in their luggage.

Tet is the time for students and workers to reunite with their families in the rural areas and this year workers will have 11 day-offs for the holiday before returning to work on February 18.
