Update: May, 20/2010 - 10:13

HCM CITY—Graeme Swift, the Australian consul general in HCM City, is visiting four small-scale development projects funded by the Australian Consulate in Quang Nam province and Da Nang.

The Australian Government, through the Australian Consulate-General in HCM City, has funded VND400 million (AUD25,000) for these projects which range from extending the water pipeline, purchasing equipment and furniture for the physio-therapy rooms for disabled children, purchasing 3-wheeled motorbikes for disabled people, and upgrading a kindergarten.

The funding is through the Direct Aid Programme (DAP), a small, flexible grants programme for development activities funded by the Australian Government to alleviate humanitarian hardship. _VNS
