HIV/AIDS
training programme debuts
(05-06-2006)
HA NOI — An online
training programme on HIV/AIDS control for medical doctors and experts, the
first of its kind in Viet Nam, has been launched.
The programme aims to
provide opportunities for Vietnamese and German HIV/AIDS experts to exchange
experiences, especially solutions to problems that Viet Nam faces in the medical
treatment and care of HIV/AIDS patients.
The four-month programme
includes online forums conducted by experts from the German Human Resources
Development Organisation (inWEnt) in association with the Viet Nam Development
Gate (VNDG).
Hans Ulrich Fuhrke, inWEnt
regional co-ordinator, said that the programme will create a cyber forum for 40
trainees, who are also scheduled to attend a five-day workshop in early August
to develop their own projects.
Trainees will be grouped
together by professional interest and they will receive specific guidelines on
professional HIV/AIDS control project execution after finishing the course.
inWEnt has also been
working on a co-operation programme in distance and online training with the Ha
Noi Medical College. — VNS
