16,035 coronavirus infections confirmed on Tuesday, Hà Nội reports record high 2,884 cases

The city of Hà Nội continues to be the locality with the most coronavirus cases in the country, registering a record 2,884 new daily COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, as a total of 16,035 transmissions were confirmed nationwide.

HÀ NỘI — The city of Hà Nội continues to be the locality with the most coronavirus cases in the country, registering a record 2,884 new daily COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, as a total of 16,035 transmissions were confirmed nationwide.

It was the third consecutive day the capital had had over 2,800 cases.

Of the daily caseload, 16 were imported, the rest domestic. There were 10,691 community transmissions. 

The total number of coronavirus infections in the country since the start of the pandemic now stands at 1,930,428.

Việt Nam reported an additional 256 COVID-related deaths on Tuesday, bringing the death toll from the virus to 34,787.

A total of 6,866 patients were declared fully recovered from COVID-19, with the total number given the all-clear increasing to 1,596,960 since the start of the pandemic.

31 Omicron infections have been discovered so far, all imported cases quarantined upon arrival.
