Viet Nam wins 3 gold at Informatics Olympiad

HA NOI (VNS) — Six Vietnamese students won three gold, two silvers, and a bronze at the 2015 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad which was held online by Indonesia on May 10 and 11.

According to a report from the Ministry of Education and Training, the three Vietnamese students who scored 300 out of 300 to win the gold medal are 11th or 12th graders Nguyen Tien Trung Kien, Nguyen Viet Dung, and Phan Duc Nhat Minh, all from the High School of Natural Science, Ha Noi National University.

Twelfth graders at the High School of Natural Science Do Ngoc Khanh and Pham Van Hanh won the two silver medals.

Vu Phuc Hoang from the High School for Gifted Students, Ha Noi Teacher Training College, won the bronze medal.

Students from 27 countries and territories participated in this year's competition.

This has been Viet Nam's best result at the Olympiad since 2013. Last year, the Vietnamese team won six silver medals at the competition. — VNS
