HA NOI — The National Paediatrics Hospital will use online technology to teach the latest deltoid muscle fibrosis treatments to doctors in five provincial hospitals tomorrow.

In the first programme of its kind, the hospital’s senior experts will use online television to instruct their local colleagues on the treatment process including diagnosis, criteria to determine which cases will require surgery, surgical procedures, rehabilitation, and non-surgical methods.

"The sharing of information online is aimed to minimise training costs. A number of local doctors in many provinces can be guided at the same time," said the hospital’s deputy director Nguyen Van Loc.

The participating hospitals are located in Nghe An, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh and Thai Nguyen.

The programme aims to help hospitals nationwide treat deltoid muscle fibrosis, a disease that afflicts more than 10,000 children. The online training programme is expected to be applied in other provinces in the near future. — VNS
