HCM CITY — Twelve Thai exhibitors specialising in supply chain and industrial products showed off their innovative products and services and looked for potential partners at the Thailand-Việt Nam Supply Chain and Industrial Products business matching event held on Tuesday in HCM City.

Twelve machinery and accessories, food and beverages, oil, textile, furniture and floorboard, and medical gloves producers participated in both offline and online business matching sessions to discover the market potential and facilitate tie-ups between Thai and Vietnamese businesses.

The event, organised by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion, also served as a platform for participants to exchange views on supply chains and industrial products and discuss strategic perspectives and practical approaches to seize business opportunities.

It was meant to stimulate trade and investment relations between Thai and Vietnamese businesses, Suparporn Sookmark, director of the Thai Trade Centre in HCM City, said.

It indicated the growing co-operation between the two countries, and solidarity within the ASEAN bloc, also illustrated by the consistent growth in trade at an average annual rate of 11 percent in the last three years, she said.

In the first five months of this year trade between the two countries was worth US$6.2 billion. — VNS
