Russia to resume flights to Hà Nội

HÀ NỘI — Russia will resume flights to Việt Nam, India, Finland and Qatar from January 27, according to the Russian Centre for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Airway operation between Russia and those countries have been suspended since the first weeks of the pandemic.

The centre’s announcement stated that after discussing and considering the pandemic situation in the countries, it decided to apply the “reciprocity” principle in resuming flights to Việt Nam with the route Moscow-Hà Nội, India with the route Moscow-New Delhi, Finland with two routes Moscow-Helsinki and St. Petersburg-Helsinki, and Qatar with the route Moscow-Doha. All of those routes have two flights per week.

The Russian Centre for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed the incidence of COVID-19 in Việt Nam, India, Finland and Qatar was below 40 cases per 100,000 people in 14 days, meeting epidemiological criteria to re-operate aviation.

The statistics site showed that as of January 16 evening of Việt Nam time, Russia had recorded more than 3.5 million COVID-19 cases with more than 65,000 deaths. Việt Nam has more than 1,500 cases with 35 deaths. — VNS
