TOKYO (VNS) — Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong yesterday visited Kanagawa Prefecture, the fourth largest economic hub in Japan and one of its six national strategic special zones under Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's economic policy.
The Party leader attended a ceremony launching the "Viet Nam Fiesta in Kanagawa," initiated by Governor Kuroiwa Yuji in the port city of Yokohama.
At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said he believed Kanagawa and Yokohama would become Viet Nam's trading gateways in Japan, deepening the extensive, strategic partnership between them.
The event will last until September 20.
While in the prefecture, the Party leader witnessed the signing of an economic co-operation agreement between Hung Yen Province and Kanagawa Prefecture.
He also visited Fuji Electric, a world giant in electrical equipment manufacturing. — VNS
