HÀ NỘI — Fourteen COVID-19 patients recovered and were released from two treatment facilities in the southern provinces of Bạc Liêu and Đồng Tháp on Monday afternoon.
The newly recovered patients have brought the country’s total cases being given the all-clear to 293, making up 89.3 per cent of total COVID-19 confirmed cases in Việt Nam.
They are all Vietnamese nationality, including one patient at the Sa Đéc General Hospital in Đồng Tháp Province and 13 patients at the Bạc Liêu General Hospital. Full details as follows:
At the Sa Đéc General Hospital, the recovered patient is Patient 316, 19, male, admitted to the hospital on May 16. During treatment, the patient was tested three times and all tests came back negative for SARS-CoV-2 on May 20, 22 and 27. Currently, the patient has no fever, no cough, no breathing difficulties and is in a stable condition.
At the Bạc Liêu General Hospital, there are 13 recovered patients, including Patient 274, a 3-month-old baby. The boy was admitted to the hospital on May 7. During treatment, the patient had five tests and all tests were negative for SARS-CoV-2 from May 25 to 28.
The remaining patients include: Patient 272 (58, male), Patient 273 (30, female), Patient 275 (male, 33), Patient 276 (male, 36), Patient 279 (male, 20), Patient 280 (female, 29), Patient 281 (female, 30), Patient 283 (female, 20), Patient 284 (female, 30), Patient 287 (female, 28), Patient 288 (female, 32), and Patient 313 (male, 28).
They were all imported cases, discovered to have contracted the virus as they returned from the UAE on a specially-arranged repatriation flight that landed in the southern province of Cần Thơ on May 3.
They were immediately quarantined upon arrival and pose no risks of community transmission.
Currently, all patients have no fever, no cough, no shortness of breath and are in a stable condition. They will continue to be isolated and monitored for the next 14 days, according to the Sub-Committee for Treatment of the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
As of Monday morning, Việt Nam still reported no COVID-19 community transmission cases, making it the 46th days straight without new domestic patients.
