HA NOI (VNS)— More than 280 cases of firecracker violations were discovered nation-wide during the eight-day Tet holiday, according to the Ministry of Public Security.
Police arrested 334 people for illegally producing, trading, transporting and using firecrackers. As many as 462.9 kilos of firecrackers were seized.
The Government promulgated a firecracker ban in 1994 after a series of serious accidents over several years.
The Ministry of Health said there were no explosives-related casualties during this year's Tet holidays. — VNS
