HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese films will be shown during the 9th World Premieres Film Festival of Philippines in Manila from June 29 to July 11, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reports.

The festival honours representative cinematic works and film producers from across the globe.

Cuộc Đời Của Yến (Yến’s Life), by filmmaker Đinh Tuấn Vũ and Viet Nam Feature Film Studio, has received numerous domestic film awards and was selected as one of the five film entries for the festival’s Main Competition by the organisation board.

Eight more films from Việt Nam will also be screened at the festival, including: Trúng Số (Jackpot), Mỹ Nhân (Beautiful Women), Những Đứa Con Của Làng (Children of the Village), Nhà Tiên Tri (The Prophecy), Tôi Thấy Hoa Vàng Trên Cỏ Xanh (Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass), 12 Chòm Sao: Vẽ Đường Cho Yêu Chạy (Zodiac 12: Five Steps of Love), Trên Đỉnh Bình Yên (On the Peaceful Peak), and Nước 2030 (2030).

In addition to the Bối Cảnh Quay Phim Tại Việt Nam (Filming Context in Việt Nam) exhibition, documentaries promoting tourism in Việt Nam will be screened during the festival.

Việt Nam is the festival’s ’Country of Honour’ this year: a great opportunity to promote its culture, people and tourism to international friends. — VNS
