NINH BINH (VNS) – Nine family members in the northern province of Ninh Binh were hospitalised yesterday, with food poisoning the suspected cause.
The patients, who are close relatives of Tran Thi Cuong, 73, in Ly Nhan Village, all showed symptoms of nerve damage such as headache, dizziness and limb paralysis.
Three of the nine were in serious condition, while others had milder symptoms.
Ninh Binh Food Hygiene and Safety Department Head Nguyen Thi Huong said the patients had lunch together yesterday at Cuong's house, but the source of the alleged food poisoning had not yet been determined.
Samples taken from the meal's leftovers were sent to the National Institute for Food Control for testing, Huong said. — VNS
