Da Nang authorities release odd/even parking plan

DA NANG (VNS) — The central city of Da Nang has issued orders prohibiting the parking of four-wheelers on even dates and odd days on certain routes of the city centre.

Accordingly, traffic signs have been installed on the routes since Tuesday.

The odd-even scheme was aimed at easing the traffic flow in the city, according to the city's Department of Transport.

Under the rule, vehicles would be allowed to park only on odd dates or even dates on the city's ten routes.

The ten routes where odd-even parking scheme have been applied are: Thai Phien, Le Hong Phong, Hoang Hoa Tham, and Le Do (from Dieân Bien Phu Road to Tran Cao Van Road), in addition to Do Quang (from Nguyen Van Linh Road to To Ngoc Van), Tran Quoc Toan, and Tran Binh Trong, Nguyen Trai. The other two routes are Hoang Dieu (from Nguyen Van Linh Road to Duy Tan Road) and Hai Phong (from Nguyen Chi Thanh Road to Hoang Hoa Tham Road).

Da Nang City's Department of Transport has assigned the municipal People Committee to oversee the implementation and co-ordinated with city police and local authorities in disseminating the information for road users and strictly deal with violations.

Administration fines will be imposed for violated vehicles from the beginning of April.

The department was also asked to work with relevant agencies in submitting a plan on collecting parking fees on routes in the city centre and business service units in the city to the municipal People's Committee for approval. — VNS
