HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Craft Fair (CraftViet) 2017 will take place from November 9 to 13 in Hà Nội.
The event is expected to attract around 250 booths from 24 provinces and cities, displaying typical handicraft products such as Chu Đậu pottery, Bát Tràng pottery, Đông Hồ painting and brocade weaving.
The fair is designed to seek investment to expand the scale of craft villages, to promote the potential of cultural tourism and rural trades, to restore and develop handicrafts, and to promote national identity in accordance with the new rural development policy.
Additionally, it also helps to strengthen trade promotion and turn craft products into commercial and value added products.
This year’s fair will include a "Vietnamese tea place". Famous tea producers and processors in the northern provinces of Thái Nguyên and Sơn La will introduce the best quality tea as well as the culture of enjoying tea.
Đào Văn Hồ, director of the Việt Nam Trade Promotion Centre for Agriculture, said in order to avoid commercial fraud and ensure the quality of products displayed at the fair, the organising committee requires participating booths to ensure product quality.
In addition, the organisers will cooperate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and local quality control agencies to strengthen the quality control of products at the fair.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, will be held at the Exhibition Fair, Economic Transaction and Commercial Area, No 489 Hoàng Quốc Việt Street, Cầu Giấy District, Hà Nội. — VNS
