ĐÀ NẴNG — Viet Nam's 135th COVID-19 patient, the last positive case in Đà Nẵng, has tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 for the first time, the municipal health department reported on Tuesday.

The female patient, 27, from Hải Phòng, who worked at a restaurant in Sweden, flew from Bangkok, Thailand to Đà Nẵng on March 21.

The patient tested positive for the deadly virus in the city’s quarantine area on March 22.

She was taken to the city’s General Hospital for further treatment and has since returned to a healthy status.

The patient needs to test negative once more before leaving the hospital.

Vice director of the hospital Nguyễn Thành Trung said she would likely be discharged this week.

According to the department, 129 passengers, including 22 with close contact, on the same flight as patient No 122 had tested negative for SARS-CoV-2. They have been in quarantine in the city.

According to the latest report from the city, 352 people are in quarantine at medical centres, hotels and households, while 3,407 medical samples had tested negative. 3,791 people had finished quarantine as of Tuesday. — VNS
