Central city begins German teaching programme

DA NANG – The Cen­tral Agen­cy for Ger­man Schools Abroad (ZfA) will help the central city begin a pilot German teaching project at two junior secondary school in Cam Le district in 2015-16.

Vice director of the city's education and training department, Nguyen Minh Hung, confirmed to the Viet Nam News that German will be the second foreign language to be introduced at the secondary school level in the district after English.

As scheduled, ZfA will send teachers, books and facilities to help the district start this education programme.

Hung said the district earlier introduced Korean language at a secondary school from this year in co-operation with Yoy Koica from Korea and the Da Nang's foreign language college.

Plans are also afoot to introduce Japanese language teaching at some junior secondary schools in the district following the city's foreign language teaching programme for 2012-20.

Da Nang is the fourth city where ZfA has introduced German teaching programme after Ha Noi and HCM City, Hai Phong.

Students would apply to attend universities in Germany in the future. — VNS
