Another domestic elephant killed in Dak Lak

DAK LAK (VNS) — Another elephant was killedon Wednesday in Ea WerCommune, Buon Don District, becoming the fourth domestic elephant to die in Dak Lak province since beginning of this year.

The elephant, named Y Lun, was found dead on the banks of the River Srepok in theCentral Highland province, Ea Wer Communal Police said.

Y Lun was the commune's last domestic elephant, owned by Y Nhuan Hmok'sfamily who lives in Tul B village.

Earlier, Y Lun was seriously wounded after its left thigh was cut due to unknown reasons in the forest on March 30. It was sent to the Yok Don NationalPark for treatment and then, it returned home to recuperate.

The authorities are investigating the case. — VNS
