Party Chief receives Japan’s LDP general secretary

HÀ NÕI — Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng yesterday received Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan, Toshihiro Nikai who is on an official visit to Việt Nam.

The Japan’s LDP secretary general who is also President of the Japan–Việt Nam Parliamentary Friendship Association, highly appreciated the official visit by Việt Nam’s Party Chief to Japan last September saying that it set a milestone and opened a new era in bilateral relations between the two countries.

He stressed the political trust between the two sides and considered it as a firm foundation for the effective and beneficial co-operation between the peoples of the two nations.

Nikai affirmed that the LDP in its role as the ruling party of Japan, would constantly prioritise the partnership and relationship with Việt Nam in its foreign affairs.

He vowed to boost exchanges and co-operation with the Communist Party of Việt Nam.

Meanwhile, Party General Secretary Trọng expressed his gratitude towards a strong and fruitful development in relations between Việt Nam and Japan.

He also affirmed that Việt Nam regarded Japan as one of its most important and long-term partners in all fields of co-operation.

The Vietnamese Party Chief highly appreciated the great contributions by the LDP Secretary General in his role as the president of the Japan–Việt Nam Parliamentary Friendship Association and in the development of the friendship associations of the two countries. — VNS
