Hungarian NA speaker arrives in Viet Nam

HA NOI (VNS) — Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Laszlo Kover and his delegation arrived in Viet Nam yesterday, beginning an official six-day visit to the country.

The visit comes at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

Kover was born in 1959, and earned degrees in law and political science. He held various positions in Hungarian NA committees and agencies before taking office as Speaker of the Hungarian NA in August, 2010. He was reelected to the post in May, 2014.

Kover and his wife Maria Bekk are companied by Arpad Potapi, NA deputy and chairman of the Hungary-Viet Nam Friendship Group; Marton Gyongyosi, NA deputy and vice chairman of the Hungary-Southeast Asia Friendship Group; Laszlo Veress, Head of the Secretariat of the Speaker, Office of the Hungarian NA; Peter Sardi, Director for Foreign Relations, Office of the Hungarian NA; and Csaba Ory, Hungarian Ambassador to Viet Nam.

During his Viet Nam visit from November 8 and 13, the Hungarian NA Speaker will hold talks with his Vietnamese counterpart, meet with the host's high-ranking leadership and visit historical, cultural and tourism sites in Ha Noi, Quang Ninh Province, Da Nang, Quang Nam Province and HCM City. — VNS
