Condolences sent to Pakistan, Afghanistan

HA NOI (VNS) — President Truong Tan Sang yesterday sent messages of condolence to President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai over the huge losses of human life and property in the two countries after a devastating earthquake on Monday.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung extended his sympathies to his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh cabled messages of sympathy to Sartaj Aziz, adviser to the Pakistani Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, and Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani.

A powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake ripped across Afghanistan and Pakistan on October 26, killing 370 people. — VNS
