HA NOI (VNS) — Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai said Viet Nam would continue sharing its experiences in agriculture, oil exploitation and communications with Mozambique and helping it train new technicians.
Hai made the statement during a dialogue with Mozambique Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosario on Thursday in the southern African country's capital, Maputo, during a visit.
Expressing his warm welcome to the Vietnamese leader, Rosario said the visit was a special event for the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two leaders showed their satisfaction that the friendship between Viet Nam and Mozambique was growing well and expanding in various fields.
Rosario congratulated Viet Nam on its progress in economic development, whereas Hai applauded Mozambique's socio-economic achievements and reform efforts.
The leaders also agreed to strengthen exchanges and contacts among high-ranking officials, and mutual support at international platforms and organisations.
Hai said President Truong Tan Sang and PM Nguyen Tan Dung had welcomed Rosario to visit Viet Nam soon.
Rosario said he highly appreciated the education and agricultural specialists Viet Nam had sent to Mozambique. He affirmed that projects between Viet Nam and Mozambique were progressing smoothly.
They also discussed co-operation on natural disaster warnings and traffic management.
At the follow-up press briefing, Rosario and Hai told the media about orientations for the development of bilateral relations between Mozambique and Viet Nam.
"The Vietnamese Government delegation's visit aims to further tighten the traditional friendship established 40 years ago right after Mozambique gained its independence," Rosario said at the press briefing.
During his visit, which ended yesterday, Hai hosted receptions for leaders of the host country's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ministry of Transport and Communications, and Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Vietnamese Deputy PM and his entourage visited some economic establishments and communications projects carried out jointly by the two countries. They also attended an event for the 40th anniversary of Viet Nam and Mozambique's diplomatic relationship. — VNS
