HA NOI (VNS) — President Truong Tan Sang yesterday said he believed South Korea would always be one of the leading partners in investment and trade in Viet Nam.
He made the remark when meeting with the Speaker of South Korea's National Assembly, Chung Ui-Hwa in Ha Noi.
Praising the outcomes of the dialogue between the two national assemblies, President Sang said the 100,000 South Koreans in Viet Nam and 100,000 Vietnamese in South Korea shared close relations.
Noting that South Korea was a leading investors and partner in trade, tourism, labour, and official development assistance, Sang said further co-operation had much potential.
The President said South Korea's interest would greatly contribute to the success of the coming 132nd General Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union in Ha Noi this month.
Chung Ui-Hwa praised the effectiveness of South Korean's investment in Viet Nam, citing the cases of Samsung and LG.
