HA NOI (VNS) — Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc yesterday expressed hopes that Russian scientists would continue supporting Viet Nam in scientific research, specialist technology and professional training.
Phuc made this statement at a reception for a delegation of Russian scientists who arrived here yesterday.
The Deputy Prime Minister hailed the delegation for its visit and thanked the State and people of Russia for helping Viet Nam during its struggle for national independence.
He was particularly grateful to experts who took part in preserving the late President Ho Chi Minh's body and constructing the President's Mausoleum.
Phuc stressed that the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was a symbol of the two countries' friendship and said Viet Nam highly appreciated the comprehensive support of Russian medical and technical specialists.
Dr. Sidelnikov Nikolai Ivanovich, professor of Russia's research institute of medicine and essential oil, expressed his delight over sound bilateral co-operation on the research of fundamental and applied sciences in bio-technology, energy, mineral exploitation and the military, which had resulted in a number of practical achievements.
He expressed hopes for more frequent exchanges and a broader scientific co-operation with Viet Nam. — VNS
