HA NOI (VNS) — The Chinese Embassy in Ha Noi hosted a reception on Monday to mark China's 65th National Day (October 1).

Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh congratulated the Chinese people for the achievements they had made over the past 65 years, and expressed his belief that they would reap even greater fruits during the country's reform and socialist building process.

He said Viet Nam was willing to work together with China to consolidate the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Viet Nam wished to strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples as well as develop the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic partnership in a stable and healthy manner to contribute to peace, stability and development in the region and the world, Ninh said.

Chinese Ambassador to Viet Nam Hong Xiao Yong said China-Viet Nam ties had continued to develop over the years thanks to efforts from both sides.

He added that China wanted to deepen the two countries' traditional friendship and expand co-operation for mutual benefit. — VNS
