HA NOI (VNS) — President Truong Tan Sang hosted a reception in Ha Noi yesterday for former acting President of Japan's Democratic Party Sengoku Yoshito.
The President expressed his pleasure that high-level commitments had effectively been carried out by the two sides shortly after his visit to Japan in March.
He welcomed Sengoku Yoshito's proposal on a field trip to Vietnamese localities, adding that the two sides had a lot of potential for co-operation.
While agreeing with the proposals on agriculture co-operation, he said that Vietnamese and Japanese localities were working effectively in tuna fishing and applying bio-technology. Sengoku Yoshito stressed on the attention of Japan's Lower House to implementing agriculture and personnel training projects in Viet Nam. He hoped the co-operation programmes would get the support of Vietnamese ministries and sectors. He said, agricultural models in Ibaraki prefecture would be useful for Viet Nam. He valued the application of Japan's bio-technology in some Vietnamese localities such as Da Lat city in the Central Highlands Lam Dong Province. — VNS
