VN, Japan discuss agriculture vision

HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam and Japan will collaborate to draw up a medium and long-term vision for comprehensive agricultural development in Viet Nam.

At the first bilateral agriculture dialogue in Ha Noi yesterday, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat highlighted the importance of cooperation with Japan in the agricultural sector.

He added that the two countries will focus on co-operation in science and technology and applying new technology in agricultural production, biotechnology, processing and after-harvest preservation.

Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Hayashi Yoshimasa suggested that the two countries collaborate in improving the value chain of production of food and provisions, from production to distribution. — VNS
