HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam is willing to further co-operate with Panama in the maritime and fisheries sectors President Truong Tan Sang said yesterday.

Speaking at a reception for outgoing Panamanian ambassador to Viet Nam Antonio Young Virzi in Ha Noi, he said the two countries should review all co-operation frameworks to boost bilateral trade and make it match existing potential.

Virzi said Panama was very interested in stepping up co-operation with Viet Nam, especially in infrastructure development and the maritime industry.

He also said that Panama has always supported Viet Nam in international forums and has recognised the nation as a market economy.

Panama's businesses would set up efforts to approach the Vietnamese market despite the geographical distance between the two countries, he added. — VNS
