HA NOI (VNS) — The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, will pay a two-day official visit to Viet Nam starting today.
The visit, made at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, aims to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations.
The discussion is expected to focus on the Netherlands' strengths, including climate-change know-how, water management, agriculture, marine-based agriculture, oil, gas, energy and logistics.
An agreement on agricultural and food security is expected to be signed during the visit.
And a strategic partnership on climate change adaptation and water management is likely.
Dutch companies will also meet with Vietnamese to discuss and sign business deals.
The Dutch leader will be accompanied by his Minister for Agriculture, Sharon Dijksma, Ambassador to Viet Nam Joop Scheffers and advisor to Dutch PM on foreign policy and defence Jack Twiss Quarles van Ufford. — VNS
