HCM CITY —The potential for further co-operation between Chile and Viet Nam in general and HCM City, Viet Nam's most populous and largest economic hub in particular, remained high, said Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee Le Hoang Quan.

He added that HCM City also called for a Chilean sister city while receiving Chilean President Sebastian Pinera Echenique in HCM City yesterday.

Briefing the guest on the socio-economic development of HCM City, Quan said that part of the city's development rested on the co-operation with other countries including Chile.

For his part, President Echenique said the visit was successful with many results including the signing of a bilateral trade agreement and several co-operation pacts in education, tourism, culture and finance.

He said he hoped the two countries would ink Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement soon.
