HA NOI — Viet Nam wished to enhance its legislation ties with Chile, said Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong while receiving Chilean Senate President Guido Girardin Lavin in Ha Noi yesterday.

This would help elevate the two countries' comprehensive partnership, spur their development and prosperity and help achieve peace and growth in South East Asia, Latin America and world-wide, the Party leader said.

Trong also praised the results of the working sessions between Lavin and Viet Nam's leaders, which were conducted in the capital city on Tuesday.

He congratulated the Chilean people's achievements in their national construction and development and thanked them for their support to the Vietnamese struggle for liberation and current nation-building process.

The Party leader also said he was glad to see the rapid development of bilateral ties, especially in terms of economics, trade and investment.

Lavin agreed and affirmed that he would strive to boost the traditional ties of the two legislative bodies, states and peoples in order to make it more practical and efficient. — VNS
