HA NOI — The International Labour Organisation's (ILO) co-operation with Viet Nam to build labour, employment and social security policies were highly valued by the country, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.
He made the statement yesterday while receiving Gyorgy Sziraczki, the newly appointed director of the ILO Office in Viet Nam.
Minh expressed his hope that the two sides would soon complete and sign the national co-operation programme for the 2012-16 period and suggested that the ILO would make an active contribution to the One United Nations Initiative in Viet Nam.
He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government would create favourable conditions for ILO activities in the country and would make efforts to engage in common tasks as a permanent member of the ILO executive board during the 2011-14 period.
Sziraczki affirmed that he would actively contribute to boosting the co-operation between Viet Nam and the ILO, including the effective implementation of the National Programme for 2012-16. — VNS
