HA NOI — The audit sector of Viet Nam is willing to continue fostering co-operation with the audit sector of Myanmar, said National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung while receiving Myanmar's Auditor General Lunn Maung yesterday.
Hung stressed the important role of the audit sector in the context of the global financial crisis and the increasingly complicated nature of financial-economic relations.
Therefore, developing co-operation between audit sectors of countries in the region and around the world at large to share experience was very important, he said.
Expressing his delight at the results of recent co-operation between the two countries' audit agencies, Hung urged the two sides to continue implementing reached agreements and increase sharing of experiences the sector.
The top legislator congratulated Myanmar on successfully organising the recent general election and affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly wished to increase co-operation with the Myanmar National Assembly.
For his part, the Myanmar Auditor General said Myanmar wished to co-operate with Viet Nam in many fields, including the audit sector.
He said he hoped audit agencies of the two countries would continue promoting their co-operation and experience sharing.
On the same day, the State audit offices of Viet Nam and Myanmar held a working session to share their professional experiences and explain their functions, tasks and legal position.
Chief Auditor of the State Audit of Viet Nam Dinh Tien Dung wished that the audit agency of Myanmar would continue this exchange, especially on audits relating to the use and management of land and mineral resources.
The two sides agreed to increase the supply of information and co-operation in training and mutual support at multilateral forums.— VNS
